Muse - United States of Eurasia
This is the first release of Muse's upcoming album "The Resistance" which is due to be released in September 2009.
The United States of Eurasia is ofcourse one of the continents in George Orwell's 1984. The track itself has many references to the book.
It is very different from the previous releases from their "Black Holes and Revelations" album.
If this release is anything to go by the album will sound majestic and full of almost classical and symphonic influences.
Starting with a soft piano and Matt Bellamy's voice humming and singing softly it soon builds to a succession of harmonies reminiscent of Queen in their heyday with hints of "Somebody to Love" and "Bohemian Rhapsody".
The music sounds mysterious and quite dark in places reflecting the tone of the lyrics. It's almost as if you can feel the desperation and hopelessness of living in a totalitarian society that watches your every move.
I believe that this is the best I've heard from Muse and it will undoubtedly touch everyone that hears it
I give it a 10 out of 10 .... just amazing!!
I will be playing the song for the first time on MTJR this coming Sunday 2nd August at 1.30pm (UK)
