Well, you get the film of the book, the book of the film, cd of the film, toy of the film, film of the toy etc so what's next ?
Well, on Saturday we are off to see the musical of the album - yup, they've turned an album into a musical (can't think of this being done before but I'm probably wrong, I usually am). The album in question is "Dreamboats and Petticoats" and the musical is called that as well.

Its sort of like Abba...They changed an album into a musical and then from a musical into a film...(But I love the film...but shhhh don't tell anyone)

Oh dear, now John knows my other secret!

So we'll have the single from the musical of the film of the album of the single?

That has made my brain hurt
Have a great time, Dumbo xx
How was the musical, Dumbo?
It was absolutely brilliant - I could have quite happily stayed where I was an watched the next performance.
If you like 60's music (and like it live and loud) with some acting and comedy thrown in as well and don't mind just over 2 hours of fast paced, well performed entertainment then I'd highly recommend it - in fact I'd highly recommend it anyway. The only "new" track is the title track which was written to sound like a 60's track.
It's basically music from the hit Dreamboats and Petticoats CD's with a story written around the tracks. The story itself is pretty lame but it does a good job of leading into the next track.
All the cast act, sing and dance and play at least 1 instrument with some playing 2 or 3 (not at the same time). There is no backing track and they are playing the instruments.
The cast appeared to enjoy themselves but no half as much as those in the theatre. By the closing tracks just about everybody was on their feet bopping away as space allowed.
I would recommend people to go and see it though I wouldn't recommend going to the Savoy Theatre in London if you have mobility problems. We entered the theatre at street level and had to go down 3 sets of stairs to get to the stalls (best place to see the show in my opinion). This is the 4th London theatre I've been in - I didn't realise they'd be quite as small as they are but they are steeped in history.
The show has been touring and may well do so again - see it !!!!
Sounds a lot of fun!
Glad you enjoyed it. x
